Wikki Tourists Football Club of Bauchi, has secured a valuable away point after playing out a two–two draw against Warri Wolves in a Matchday nineteen Nigeria Professional Football League clash in Ozoro, Delta State.
The Bauchi-based side suffered an early setback in the thirty-third minute when defender and assistant captain, Abba Musa, was forced off due to injury and was later replaced by Flying Eagles defender, Haruna Aliyu, who slotted in confidently at the back.
Despite the disruption, Wikki Tourists took the lead four minutes later through Imamu Bala, who calmly finished from a well-weighted assist by Saifullahi Yusuf.
Warri Wolves responded immediately after the restart, with Ezekiel Oroh drawing level in the forty-sixth minute, before Seth Mayi gave the hosts the lead in the fifty-sixth minute.
Wikki Tourists, however, showed resilience and determination, pushing for an equaliser and getting their reward in the seventy-sixth minute when Imamu Bala completed his brace, converting a fine assist from Nasiru Jibrin to secure a share of the spoils.
With the result, Warri Wolves remained in thirteenth position on the NPFL table, with Wikki Tourists close behind in fourteenth, making the away point crucial in the mid-table contest.
Speaking after the match, Wikki Tourists Head Coach Abdu Maikaba said the team had aimed for maximum points but was satisfied with the outcome.
Coach Maikaba also commended his players for their fighting spirit and composure, especially after conceding twice in the second half.
