The Chairperson Association of Professional Women Society of Engineer Engineer Mercy Asabe Joshua who made the call at an event to mark this year’s world water day in Bauchi said women has great role to play towards nation building hence the need for them to develop their potentials.

She explained that the day was celebrated to highlights the importance of fresh water as well as raises awareness and inspires action to tackle the water and sanitation crisis.

Engineer Mercy Joshua said there is need for as sundry to unite around water and use water for peace, laying the foundations of a more stable and prosperous tomorrow.

The chairperson stressed the need for everyone to swing into action, to unite around the theme of “Water for life ” and to leverage water as a tool for building the future.

In a remark, the state Chairman Nigerian Society of Engineer ,Dr. Hadi Ibrahim said the day was aimed to raise awareness about water-related issues and encourage people to take action to address global water challenges.

Dr. Hadi Ibrahim call on the younger ones to have good foundation on engineering related courses for them to become potential engineers .


One of the participants Kalilat Muhammad said celebrating the is an eye opener and has widening their horizon towards managing water and crop production and management.
