Governments advised to intensify efforts on the current economic hardship.

Government at all levels have been advised to intensify efforts on the economic stimulus programmes aimed at reducing the persistence rising of commodities in the country.

A political economist, Professor Rufa’i Ahmad Alkali gave the advice in his paper presentation at the ninety seventy six to nineteen eighty alumni of Bauchi college of arts and science held at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi.

He said most of the moribund industries are in dare need of capital support to sustain their production, saying this would go along way in reducing high cost of living in the country.

Professor Alkali recalled that during the world economic crisis in two thousand and nine, governments of USA and UK have supported their local industries.

While appealing to government at all levels to subsidize price of food items and other essential commodity, Professor Rufa’i Ahmad Alkali also called on citizens of the country not blame the present administration on the current hardship faced by Nigerians, adding that, the problem existed long time a go.

He further commended the present measures taken by the President Bola Ahmed  Tinubu administration aimed to bring succor to the problem.
