The state police Commissioner, Auwala Musa Muhammad has charged theater and musical artists to support the effort of the Nigerian Police in reshaping the minds of youths through songs and other artistic works.
The Police Commissioner made the appeal during an award ceremony in his honour organized by Bauchi Artists Forum held at Open Air Theater, Bauchi.
Represented by the State Command Police Public Relation Officer, SP Muhammad Wakil, CP Auwal Musa explained that, Artistic work play a vital role in changing some miscreant minds to become useful individuals in the society.
He thanked the association for recognizing the relentless effort of the state Command of the Nigerian Police in maintaining peace and security for the safety of lives of the people and property in the state.
In an interview with our correspondent, the lead organiser Abdurahaman Zailani on behalf of the forum said, the award is based on the Commissioner’s doggedness to eradicate the act of criminality for the peace to be maintained in the state.
In a related development, the Director General, Agency for Vigilante and Youths Empowerment, Alh Umar Aliyu Shayi has reassured of his agency’s readiness to support the less privileged in the society apart from the fight against banditry, kidnapping, and other social vices.
Umar Aliyu Shayi made the disclosure when he received an award from Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria MOPPAN at Zaranda Hotel which he described as an encouragement.
In his remarks, the state Chairman of MOPPAN Alh. Babai Aliyu, urged other political office holders to emulate the character of Umar Shayi’s dedication and reflect in their day to day activities for better service to humanity.
