Bauchi Assembly vows to end criminal elements in the State.

The State House Of Assembly has expressed worry at the criminal syndicates specialising in the abduction, trafficking, and sale of children from Bauchi state to other parts of the country.

This is coming under matters of urgent public importance moved by member representing Kirfi Constituency Habib Umar during plenary.

He said the syndicates have been operating for over 10 years and allegedly specialised in inter-state trafficking, abduction, buying and selling of minors.

According to him, the seven children abducted from Bauchi state and trafficked to Kano have since been reunited to their families.

Habib Umar commended the efforts of the Kano state police Command and urged parents to remain attentive to the well-being of their children as a fundamental responsibility.

He also called on the state government to take decisive legal action against the arrested suspects and orders the closure of the private hospital allegedly involve in trafficking of babies in the state capital.

In his ruling, the speaker Babayo Muhammad Akuyam, referred the matter to the joint house committees on Health, security and Women affairs to make thorough investigation and advised the state government to take necessary legal steps to ensure that the suspects are brought to book.

Meanwhile, member representing Ganjuwa east East in the state house of assembly Dayyabu Ladan Mohammed has appealed to the state government to upgrade Soro primary health care to a general hospital.

The lawmaker made the appeal while presenting a motion during plenary presided over by Babayo Muhammad.

According to him, the need to upgrade the Soro primary health care center cannot be overemphasized, as it will provide conducive, affordable and hospital environment for both the Heath workers and the patients as well as enhancing smooth delivery of health care services to the communities.

Dayyabu Mohammed said the primary health care center when upgraded to a general hospital will be dedicated to emergency care and other specialized treatment.
