Bauchi State House of Assembly Committee on Education has reiterated its commitment to partner with Adolescent Girls Initiative AGILE, for Learning and Empowerment towards Improving Girl Child Education
The Chairman of the Committee ,Dr Nasir Ahmad Ala stated this during the School Based Management Committee Sensitization workshop organized by AGILE Bauchi Project, with members of the Schools Based Management Committees drawn from Katagum,Shira, Jama’are,Gamawa,Giade and Zaki local government areas, held in Azare, Katagum Local Government Area.
Dr. Nasiru Ala said activities of the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment is inline with the committees target towards architecturing the number of out of school girls in Bauchi state.
He used the forum to solicit for support from the school Management committee members in the Bauchi North Senatorial District with a view to achievinh the desired goals of AGILE project.
In his speech during the occasion, the State Coordinator of AGILE Mallam Ali Sule Gar said the project will assist Community Leaders, parents and guardians as well as religious leaders in reshaping the future of girls education, hence the need for both parties to support the program.
He examined that the project will also assist poor families who were not opportuned to enroll their girl child between the ages of 10 to 20 years in to public schools.
The Sensitazation workshop also had Members of Bauchi North Senatorial District, Traditional rulers as well as religious leaders as participants.
